The Village pickup includes:
Refuse
Recyclables (Put in your recycling bin) Cans Rinse, labels ok. Glass (Please discard lids), rinse, labels ok. Newspaper: Newsprint and glossy inserts Plastic bottles: # 1 or # 2 (markings are on the bottom) and jugs. Rinse, labels are ok.
*COMPOST: This program begins April 1 and goes until the last pickup in November. Put your leaves, grass or small branches in a container marked COMPOST or 30 gallon brown paper bags, or bundle them up. Clear plastic bags are no longer accepted! Paper bags are available at Village Hall for $2.00 a bundle of 5.
* If you have tree limbs you can get the adopt a truck from the Village Office for $15.00 a day.
*REFRIGERATORS AND FREEZERS: The Village now picks up these items with the freon in them at no additional cost! Tags are no longer needed. You do not need to have the freon removed from these and related items. Put them out on trash day, call the company at the number above and the company will take them away.
All residential and commercial refuse, items for recycling, and compost must be out at curbside for pickup by 7:00am on the normal pickup day which is Tuesday for residents west of Saginaw Street and Wednesday for residents on Saginaw or East of it. Everything must be at the curb at once. There are different trucks that pick up the compost, recycling and refuse materials.
HOLIDAYS: If there is a holiday during the week, i.e. New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, pickup will be done on the next day (Wednesday or Thursday).
SPECIAL LARGE PICKUPS: In the event you have some very large items these too can be put at the curb. Please call the number below in advance and let them know.
Carpeting must be rolled so that one person can lift it. Large items are picked up by a different truck than normal refuse so please call ahead for special loads. If you have any questions regarding what can be picked up, contact Allied Waste formally Great Lakes Waste (800) 685-7382.
VILLAGE CABLE SERVICE
The Village of Holly has a franchise agreement with Comcast Cable. If you desire their service or have a problem with existing service please call 1-800-COMCAST.
If you have a problem and you are unable to resolve that problem with Comcast the State of Michigan does provide assistance for video/cable customer complaints through The Michigan Public Service Commission. You can contact them the following ways:
